Question #1:

Can Pacquiao beat anyone at their natural weight?

more catchweight bullspit. why do true boxing fans continue to put up with this nonsense? this shows me that pacquiao was never intending to fight floyd mayweather.

Pacman wants Margarito at 150 pounds
By NICK GIONGCO
July 25, 2010, 5:09pm
Manny Pacquiao will demand that a planned Nov. 13 fight versus Antonio Margarito of Mexico be fought at a catch weight of 150 pounds.

“One-hundred fifty pounds,” Pacquiao’s lawyer Franklin Gacal said Sunday when asked about the Pacquiao-Margarito bout for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super-welterweight crown.

The super-welter division has a limit of 154 lbs and Pacquiao’s camp believes it is fair that Margarito agree to such a unique weight setup being a naturally bigger fighter.

Although the 5’11” Margarito has fought mostly at welterweight (147 lbs.), he has campaigned seven times at super-welter.

The Mexican has a 38-6-0 win-loss-draw record with 27 knockouts.

The 5’6” Pacquiao, who started out at light-fly (108 lbs.) before racking up world titles up to welter, has never fought at super-welter, having only seen action at welter three times.

Pacquiao, armed with a 51-3-2 slate with 38 knockouts, beat Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey in his welterweight fights.

“Margarito is big and tall even at super-welter,” Gacal noed.

Arum is still in the process of finalizing the Pacquiao-Margarito deal and while it appears it is a go for November, the venue remains a mystery.

Arum wants it to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where his company is based. But there are other cities bidding to host it: Abu Dhabi, Dallas and Monterrey (Mexico).

Mike Koncz, Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser, is still in the US, trying to get the best deal for his boss.
“I’ll get what’s the best deal that I could get for Manny,” Koncz said.

Question #3:

Why exactly do people think the best p4p fighter Manny Pacquiao is "overrated"?

I have read a nonsense article yesterday saying the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight would be a mismatch, In that retard article it said that Manny is one dimensional, has never fought any hall of famers, and his opposition usually has slim to or no defense what so ever, the article said Manny is overrated and that mayweather would knock him out. Now the writer of this crap obviously has his facts wrong and doesn't like Manny pacquiao. First of all Manny is far from one dimensional, seven years ago maybe but as we boxing fans recall after his loss to Erik Morales(a hall of famer) he became a more two handed fighter and after the second fight with Juan Manual Marquez(a hall of famer) his footwork and punch arsenal changed. Second Manny has fought future hall of fame inductees Oscar De La Hoya, Erik Morales, Juan Manual Marquez, Marco Antio Barrera, and Miguel Cotto,Hatton maybe , while Floyd has fought ODLH, JJM and Shane Mosley,Hatton maybe. the part about Manny's oppenets not having good defense is some what true but when was the last time Mayweather fought someone with good defense? overrated huh, when the last time you heard of a p4p best 7 devision world champion overrated? other crap i want to point out is people saying Manny fought guys mayweather already beat, while Mayweather fought JMM who manny already beat. and please dont say Manny won a SD while Floyd won a UD, because Floyd got a SD over ODLH while Manny knocked him out. and for the steroid idiots, Manny Pacquiao weighed 141 pounds on the night of the first JMM fight six years ago, He weighed 149 in his last fight against clottey, and Manny has two welter weight knock outs, so does Floyd and as an amateur around the same age Manny was when he turned pro Floyd was a 106 pounder. those are for the idiots who say Manny brought his power with him by knocking out two guys and that it is unnatural for a 15 year old to weight 106 and when his 31 he's 147, my father told me that when he was 18 he weighed about 120 and he weighs about 190 now. im sorry but i have to put idiot writers in there place!

Question #4:

Is Manny Pacquiao an overrated "cherry-picker"?

for the new "pacfans" on YA

The Argument that Manny Pacquiao is Overrated

By Nathan Nau - The legacy of Manny Pacquiao has yet to be determined. Will he be remembered as pound-for-pound one of the greatest fighters in boxing history or for his lavish life style? One this is certain, the Pilipino sensation covets the bright lights, whether it’s wining championships in seven different weight classes, traveling with a giant entourage, being on the cover of Time Magazine or having aspirations of becoming President of the Philippines. The great mathematician Democritus once stated: “I would rather discover one scientific fact than become King of Persia..” I sadly, but admittedly, will never become the King of Persia or President of the Philippines, but after analyzing Pacquiao’s boxing career one fact becomes apparent – a statistically significant argument can be made that the current pound-for-pound kingpin is either slightly overrated or his opponents have been strategically selected.

One fact that cannot be argued is on average Manny Pacquiao has been fighting opponents that are considerably older, have been recently defeated or are statistically proven to be on the decline. Since his last lost, Pacquiao, 30, has gone on an eleven fight winning streak, with his opponent’s average age being 31. During the winning streak, Pacquiao’s average age at the time each respective bout took place was 28. A three year age advantage may seem minute, but boxers that have consistent success in the lower weight classes typically have tremendous speed. Pacquiao is known for and does have world-class speed in his repertoire, but does consistently fighting opponents in their early 30’s help protect and even boost his speed advantage?

In addition to an age advantage, statistics prove that Pacquiao has been fighting opponents that have been recently defeated or are on the decline. During his present winning streak, the average winning percentage of Pacquiao’s opponents throughout their entire career is an impressive 94%. However, when further analyzing the data it becomes apparent that the average winning percentage of Pacquiao’s opponents during the five fights leading up to the their respective bout declines to 84% and the average winning percentage of his opponents after their bout took place, not including the loss to Pacquiao, drops to a measly 67%. Considering the data at hand, can the argument be made that Pacquiao is consistently fighting opponents that are older, statistically on the decline and have been recently defeated?

Attacking Pacquiao’s opponents is a logical choice to the argument that he is overrated. Why hasn’t the score been settled with a game and willing Juan Manuel Marquez? Why did Pacquiao fight a recently defeated and in some cases “over-the-hill” Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and Marco Antonio Barrerra? Insiders within the sport will profoundly point out that tougher matchups exist for Pacquiao, such as Shane Mosley or the much younger Andre Berto. Rumors are swirling that Arum and Pacquiao are even interested in moving up to the 154lb division in an attempt to become an eight division world champion. Pacquiao’s opponent of choice in this dangerous move: of course, the unheralded Yuri Foreman. If Pacquiao wants a challenge, how does a David versus Goliath matchup with the giant Paul Williams sound?

On average are Manny Pacquiao’s opponents are older, on the decline or carefully selected – certainly. However, what does that really mean? Pacquiao cannot control that his competition are fighting other champions or top contenders, hence the losses, or that Bob Arum is thinking about money, his fighters legacy, and money again when deliberating on his next bout. One thing is certain, Pacquiao is a great fighter and the only outstanding item worth deliberating is where the Pilipino phenom ranks versus the legends of boxing? Presumably, on January 11th, two fighters will be in New York City to announce a mega fight that will take place on March 13 of 2010 and will not only settle the score of who is pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world today, but where Pacquiao, and even Floyd Mayweather’s, rightful ranks is among the legends of the sport of boxing.

Question #5:

Why are Manny Pacquiao's weaknesses and deficiencies completely ignored?

first, thank you deez for pointing out that manny has been dropped before. in addition, he has knockout losses to rustico torrecampo, medgurin singsurat, was dropped by the former president of iraq, hussein hussein, struggled mightily against agapito sanchez, lost more rounds than he won in two fights against juan manuel marquez, landed a great shot against a ricky hatton who was sent flying into the ring post by a mayweather check hook, beat an oscar de la hoya who was schooled by felix sturm and almost lost to stevie forbes, cotto was brain dead and weight drained, and pac's face was swollen against joshua clottey even though clottey barely touched him. i'll say this, manny pacquiao is the best managed fighter in the history of the sport! all losses, knockdowns, gift decisions, weight controversies, personal problems, etc have been covered up. he reminds me of ronald reagan, who got the nickname "the teflon president". unfortunately for manny, he's got to face floyd mayweather and get exposed for the overrated fighter he is.

Question #6:

do anyone have a LA weight loss Every Right Portions Plate easy-instruction booklet?

Question #7:

Who was the greatest fighter of all-time of any weight class?

Who in your opinion was the best there ever was??

For me it was heavy weight 'Iron' Mike Tyson. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but he was the best fighter of my era, and he knocked more people out in the first round than anyone in the history of the sport. His win-loss record was awesome and like him or not you have to agree he had the most powerful punch in the boxing history!!

Other good candidates are obviously Ali, Marciano (undefeated), Roy Jones Jr., Oscar De La Hoya, Joe Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns etc.
I don't think winning a bunch of different weight class titles is a big thing. There are a hundred different belts separated by a few pounds either side. Oscar De La Hoya won a buch as well, it's not such a big deal, but I respect your opinion Robinson was awesome, I think a boxers knock-out record should be used to judge the power of his punch and Tyson was the best of them!!!

Question #8:

Has anyone tried LA weight loss?

I'm currently considering trying LA weight loss. After I had my son last year I was 200 lbs and now I'm down to 150 (5ft 5in). I'm back to my regular weight before baby but now I just want to look like I did 4 years ago and drop another 20lbs. I love to munch and that is a serious weakness of mine. So I just wanted some input as to how LA weight loss works. Thanks in advance.

Question #9:

Lose 8 inches off my waist, too much? Unreasonable or impossible goal?

I just started on P 90 X. I started working out with my boyfriend and he is doing the classic mode. We took pictures and measurements yesterday. I am 5'3'', 118 lbs. My measurements are 38 - 30 - 30. I have a small frame, but I am very squishy, especially around my midsection. I can grab la hand full of flab all around my waist. My body fat is at 30 percent by Navy standards. Now, my goad is different than his. He wants to build muscle. I want to get slimmer and tone, but keep my curves. I'd like to get to 36 - 22 - 36, with20 - 22 percent body fat. Right now I wear a 32 DD, so my breasts aren't much of a concern for going anywhere. I can stand to lose a few inches there, too. lol.

Anway, are these realistic goals for weight loss? If so, can anyone give me a few points on how to trip down my waist? Thanks.

Question #10:

What should I wear to the Iron Man 2 Premiere in LA?

I am not sure what style of dress would be appropriate (not to casual, not too dressy) and be fashionable. I am 26 and have a medium/tan skin tone, 5'8, normal weight/hourglass figure, dark brown hair/eyes, on the exotic side. Any suggestions? I love clothing, but am at a loss about this event.

Question #11:

THIS is FOR ANYONE who thinks Pacquiao is CHEATING?

[This is a long story. If you don’t want to read it, don’t bother answering. Say whatever you want to say, I’m just asking a straight question.]

So Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach has an issue with Mayweather going 1 or 2 pounds over weight. If Pacquiao was REALLY cheating, shouldn’t he be confident and not care about how many pounds Mayweather is?

Honestly, if I was using PED’s I would be VERY CONFIDENT and wouldn’t care if I was fighting the Incredible Hulk if he was 2,000 lbs. Pacquiao’s team always negotiate about weight with every boxer because they know that Pacquiao is a small guy.

There are several reasons why Pacquiao does not want to take random blood tests; Either he feels discriminated because this is the 1st time any pro boxer had to do this, random blood testing bothers his training and focus, OR the 2005 incident that lead to the loss from Erik Morales due to an extra blood test that weakened him.

Think about this for a second…

You are a poor kid from the Philippines. You box to help your family and you get knocked out twice. A stranger goes up to you and says “Hey, I can make you a champion if you take this performance enhancing drugs.”

The stranger tells you to take Performance Enhancing Drugs so you can be World Champion. But he tells you “Beat Marco Antonio Barrera but don’t beat Juan Manuel Marquez and don’t beat Erik Morales”

Do you really believe this story?

You don’t believe the story? Are you saying…Pacquiao started using Performance Enhancing Drugs when he moved up weight and fought David Diaz, De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto?

IF YOU BELIEVE THAT….here’s another story…

You are champion of the Super Feather Weight Division and you have a LOT of money. BUT YOU WANT MORE. So a stranger goes up to you and says “Hey, I know how to give you more money and become a better champion!”

And then YOU say “How do I become more rich and a better champion?”
The stranger says “How else? By taking Performance Enhancing Drugs.”

This is the part that concerns you. You ask him “These drugs, are you sure it’s safe? I mean, I have kids in the Philippines and I don’t want to accidently overdose and die.”

The stranger says “Sure it’s safe. EVERYBODY TAKES IT. You won’t die from taking this Performance Enhancing Drugs. In fact, there’s no side effects at all.”

Here’s an important part of the story…

You ask the stranger “If I take this Performance Enhancing Drug, will I get caught?”

The stranger says “No, no matter how much urine they take from you, you will not get caught. Also if they ask for blood test you won’t get caught if they take the blood test after the fight.”

You ask the stranger “How can I get caught with this drug?”

The stranger says “The only way you get caught using this is if they ask for Random Blood Testing.”

You say “Okay, I think I can do that! It’s not risky! Sounds like a good plan!”

So YOU beat David Diaz and you beat De La Hoya. Then you beat Ricky Hatton

…but something terrible happens.

…Floyd Mayweather Sr, the trainer of Ricky Hatton, gets suspicious.

The stranger who gave you the performance enhancing drug says “Don’t worry, as long as they don’t ask for random blood test you won’t get caught. Go ahead and knock out Miguel Cotto.”

So you fight Miguel Cotto and knock him out.

…Now Floyd Sr is REALLY suspicious and Floyd Mayweather jr. wants random blood tests.

So the stranger says “Oh man! Okay, here’s the plan. Just ignore the blood tests and let everybody think your hiding something.”

Do you believe this story?

Question #16:

Is It Possible To Put A End To All This Manny Pacquiao is Doping & Floyd Mayweather's A Chicken Nonsense?

These are two great champions who's talent & Resume's are second to none. Bob Arum's ego & the politics of boxing got in the way. I truly believe both fighters really want this fight to happen.

Boxers are independent contractors, Team Mayweather had every right to demand drug testing & Team Pacquiao had every right to refuse. That cannot take anything away from either fighter.
Until these two GREAT CHAMPIONS get into the ring, no one knows who's the best.
